The music video for “Friends” by Band Of Skulls from the New Moon Soundtrack has arrived. It is taken from raw footage of their show at The Troubadour last year. Gotta love those fuzzed out guitars.
There’s really not much we can report yet…but Eclipse is right around the corner folks!!
In the meantime, here are a few things you can do to prepare for the June 30th opening:
- Read (or re-read) the book so that you are ready for all of the action of opening night.
- Pre-order a copy of New Moon on DVD, BluRay, or on iTunes, which comes out on March 20th. Proceed to watch it everyday until Eclipse comes out.
- If you haven’t picked up a copy of the platinum selling New Moon Soundtrack, what are you waiting for?? Get it on iTunes, Amazon, or pretty much anywhere.
- Check out the music video for “Monsters” by Hurricane Bells from the New Moon Soundtrack (below). I’ll never mistreat another shopping cart as long as I live.
I know, I know…another Top 10 list. Letterman does one everyday though, so I think we will survive.

In the spirit of this holiday week, we here at Chop Shop want to say a big “THANK YOU” to everyone who went out to see The Twilight Saga: New Moon, making it the #1 movie at the box office! The response has been very humbling and we are so pleased with the outcome of the film.
We also want to thank all of you who have bought/downloaded the soundtrack and made it such a success. You are the best!
Looking forward to doing it all over again for Eclipse.
If you have been following Paste Magazine’s new series, “Best of the Decade”, you have probably found yourself wondering where the 00s (is that what you call them?) went. Wasn’t Y2K just a little bit ago? Justin Timberlake is still in that boy band right? The Red Sox won the World Series? …Twice!?
Check your local show times at Fandango.com, load up the station wagon with all your twi-crazed friends, jam the soundtrack, and have a blast. What could be more fun than that?
Make sure you report back to the CHOP SHOP BLOG on your favorite scenes and songs from the film!
Between landing a song on the New Moon Soundtrack, co-hosting the broadcast of the New Moon premiere on MySpace, and having her cover of T.I.’s “Whatever You Like” in the most talked about episode of Gossip Girl this season, things have been quite busy for Anya Marina lately.
Well now there is even more good news to announce…”Whatever You Like” has made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart at #88!! The single also spent some time at #1 on the iTunes Alternative Chart and is still making a pretty strong showing overall.
To contribute to the madness, you can download “Whatever You Like” HERE!
If you already have it, delete it, and download it again.
The countdown to the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon has reached the final stages. Only a few more days until the drama between Bella, Edward, and Jacob unfolds on the big screen. Are you ready?
Here are a few things that you might need to get you through the final week:
1. Listen to The Twilight Saga: New Moon Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
Last week, the Chop Shop crew went out to the New Moon Talent Tour kick off party at the Hollywood & Highland complex here in Los Angeles. It was a great evening that featured performances from New Moon Soundtrack artists Death Cab for Cutie, Band Of Skulls, Sea Wolf, and Anya Marina. The cast from New Moon also made an appearance and answered fan questions about the upcoming film. The decibel level peaked when Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) made his “surprise” grand entrance. I may have let out a little yell also, but don’t tell anyone.
Here is a fantastic fan video of Anya’s performance of “Satellite Heart” from the show:
In more Anya news, her cover of T.I.’s “Whatever You Like” was featured on this weeks controversial episode of Gossip Girl. The song plays over a scene where Dan, Vanessa, and Olivia (played by Hillary Duff) all engage in some communal kissing and what appears to be the beginning of an interesting night together. The episode was the most watched of the season and “Whatever You Like” is #22 on the iTunes single chart today. Safe to say, it is a win-win(-win?) for everyone.
Aaaaand another piece of Anya news is that she will be co-hosting MySpace’s broadcast from the red carpet of the New Moon premiere on Monday November 16th at 6:00 PM PT. She will be hosting with the winner of the Red Carpet Correspondent Contest and is sure to provide hilarious insight on the evenings festivities. Watch along with your friends on Monday night at: http://www.myspace.com/newmoonpremiere. Don’t miss it!
